Due to the increasing number of repairs to burst water mains on Vulture Street, Council have decided to bring water service upgrade works forward.
Following repairs of burst water mains, the restoration of water can put pressure on the aging pipes, often causing further breaks along the line, as appears to be the case in Vulture Street.
As such the water service upgrade for Dundee Street, which was scheduled to commence tomorrow (13 July) will now be put on hold, with Vulture Street made a priority.
These works should be completed in three weeks and will affect the normal supply of water to residences in the area, possibly resulting in intermittent water supply between 7:00am and 4:00pm Monday to Friday during this period.
Council apologises for any inconvenience these works may cause and thanks residents for their patience during this time.
