Cardinia Shire Council is set to host the Cardinia Farmers Evening next month.
The event, which has been organised by the Council’s Economic Development Team, will acknowledge the area's primary producers, their hard work and fresh produce.
The purpose of the evening is to gather the local farming community in celebration of agriculture, produce, and one another.
The event will take place at Pakenham Racecourse in Tynong on Wednesday 10 August from 7pm and will feature cancer survivor, VFL footballer, Australian cricketer and broadcaster Simon O’Donnell as the guest speaker.
Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Jeff Springfield is encouraging the local farming community to come along to the free event.
“This event is a way to acknowledge the amazing effort and produce that our local farmers supply,” Cr Springfield said.
“Our local farming community has had it tough so this is a great way to come together and say our thanks to them.”
Samples of produce will also be on display at the event.
