An evening of entertainment and refreshments is being held at the Lithgow Union Theatre on Friday 5 August to mark the end of the successful 2022 Regional Waste 2 Art Exhibition.
The 2022 Regional Waste to Art Exhibition, hosted this year by Lithgow City Council for the first time, has been open to the public from 11 July and will close on Friday 5 August.
Entertainment, courtesy of the Mitchell Conservatorium of Music will be provided by a String Trio comprising Nicole Hammill, Nicholas Newell and Robyn Godfrey.
Nicole is ex Queensland Symphony principal violin, and both Robyn and Nicholas have played professionally with various ensembles throughout NSW.
The event is the last chance to view the Waste to Art Exhibition while being entertained by a light classical repertoire and with a complementary grazing board with cheeses, focaccia, prosciutto and pickled vegetables and drinks available for purchase.
This Community Art Exhibition features works from aspiring and professional artists in the following council areas: Bathurst Regional, Bogan Shire, Coonamble, Dubbo, Lachlan Shire, Lithgow City, Mid-Western, Oberon, Orange and Parkes Shire.
It showcases creative works made from reused and recyclable waste materials. The aim is to challenge people’s perceptions about ‘rubbish’ and to celebrate the reuse and recycling of waste through arts and crafts. This year’s waste theme is soft plastics.
Doors open at 6:00pm and the event will conclude at 8:00pm. Cost is $10 cash only at the door.
