$160 million to help make regions stronger Applications will soon open for the NSW Government’s $160 million Stronger Country Communities Fund Round Five.
Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman said the latest round is a great opportunity for councils and community groups to seek funding for projects in the region that improve the quality of life for locals.

Works schedule – unsealed road program – 1-5 August (weather permitting) Council appreciates the importance of maintaining the entire unsealed road network. Unfortunately, continual wet weather has hindered the delivery of our scheduled maintenance program being undertaken in a timely fashion.

Safety Around Schools:- Work is completed at Yass Public School- Work is completed at Gundaroo Public School- Work is completed on the Grand Junction/Morton Avenue pathways project- Work is all but completed on the children’s crossing on Rossi Street Fixing Local Roads:- Work is completed on Faulder Avenue- Work is all but completed on Morton Avenue Works are nearing completion on the next segment of Wee Jasper Road, near Gums Lane Murrumbateman Winery Trail is almost done, with some line marking, signage and safety works to be completed over the next couple of months Shingle Hill Way bridge replacement is progressing well. The contractors are continuing with bulk earthworks and culvert upgrades on the ground and the bridge beams are now on site – exciting times ahead! Bango Bridge replacement detailed design work has been approved; on-site work is due to commence later in the year Safety upgrade works: - Work on Murrumbateman Road is completed - The safety improvement work on Mulligans Flat Road is nearing completion The Nanima Road safety upgrade work is completed The Heavy Patching Program for 2022 is nearly completed – work remains on Regional Roads only Tree removal work has been completed on Back Creek Road for stage one of the sealing works. Finalisation of the detailed design is now underway with tenders to be called in the next couple of months Road rehabilitation works on Hillview Drive have commenced. The road is open, however, there may be short delays. This is expected to be completed by mid-August Council has received three grants for the Bridge Renewal Grant Program to replace four low-level crossings on Nanima Road, Back Creek Road and Yass River Road (two). Lifeguard/Pool Attendant (several casual positions available) Closing date: 5.00pm Monday, 12 September Yass Valley Council is seeking several casual lifeguards to provide supervision and swimming lessons to pool patrons at Yass and Binalong swimming pools.
Lifeguards are responsible for providing emergency rescue, first aid support and ensuring a safe environment for clients, colleagues and members of the public. Duties also include maintaining the pool facilities and providing admission and kiosk service.
