LEVEN RIVER BRIDGE SHINES PURPLE FOR HOMELESSNESS WEEK

The Council are lighting the Leven River bridge purple from sunset to sunrise in recognition of Homelessness Week (Monday 1 to Sunday 7 August 2022).  The community are encouraged to take part and light their homes and other buildings purple during this time.  

Homelessness Week raises awareness of people experiencing homelessness, the issues they face and the action needed to achieve enduring solutions.  At the time of the last census, 1,622 Tasmanians were experiencing homelessness, with one quarter of those aged between 12 and 24 years old.  Let’s all help shine a light on Homelessness.
