Council agreed to donate $2,000 to the Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day Appeal to support life-saving cancer research. (Item 8.1) Council noted the retirement of Professor Peter Shergold AC from his Chancellorship at Western Sydney University and congratulated Jennifer Westacott AO on her appointment as incoming Chancellor. (Item 8.2) Council noted the minutes of the Parramatta Traffic Committee meeting held on 20 July 2022 and approved the recommendations of the committee. (Item 13.1) Council noted the minutes of the Traffic Engineering Advisory Group meeting held on 20 July 2022 and approved the recommendations of the Group. (Item 13.2) Council adopted the draft Code of Conduct, inclusive of the Model Procedures for Administering the Model Code of Conduct. (Item 13.3) Council appointed Dr Shima Taheri, Gregory Willis, Saif Islam, David Marr, Shant Ohannessian, Daniel Green, VeeLyn Tan, Alisa Huang and Suntharalingham Senthilanantha to the Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2 Advisory Committee. (Item 13.4) Council appointed Dr Robert Lang, John Moore, Keiasha Naidoo, Cate Cunningham, Vyvienne Abla, Matthew Lazarus-Hall, Marwa Abouzeid and Jackie Emery to the Riverside Theatres Advisory Committee. (Item 13.5) Council refused the Parramatta Planning Proposal at 168-176 Parramatta Road and 89-90 Cowper Street, Granville. (Item 13.6) Council endorsed the name of Yiribana Reserve for the Central Parcel of Bushland Reserve (Lot 134, DP 203054). (Item 13.7) Council approved Service Option 3 as outlined in paragraph 13 of the Council report, being fortnightly collection of general waste in a 80L bin, with the option to apply for a 140L bin at an additional fee, fortnightly collection of recycling in a 240L bin and weekly collection of food organics and garden organics in a 240L bin, with relation to Future Waste Services. (Item 13.8) Council requested a report to be provided to Council based on the current footpath asset audit for the CBD, on the CBD pavement replacement program. (Item 14.1) Council requested to commence the NSW Geographic Names Board Process for the proposal to amend the suburb boundary of Wentworth Point to include the Jewel and Sanctuary Building precinct. (Item 14.2) Council requested an update on existing recognition programs for long-serving staff and high performing individuals and teams and requested advice on the opportunity for Council to include in the program an acknowledgement from Councillors. (Item 14.3) Council noted the Legal Status Report as at 31 July 2022. (Item 16.1) Council approved an exception to tender to extend the existing mixed solid waste garbage processing agreement.
