Applications open for capital infrastructure grants
Redland City Council 15 Aug 2022

Redland Coast organisations can now access Council grants to help them build, renovate or refurbish community facilities.

Mayor Karen Williams said Capital Infrastructure Grants were available through round one of Council’s Community Grants program.

“These grants support local organisations to undertake projects for the benefit of the Redlands Coast community,” she said.

“Last year’s program saw eight organisations share in more than $174,000 in capital infrastructure grants.

“This included funding to install a new clubhouse roof, the supply and installation of air conditioning, upgraded night lighting to a bowls green, the installation of solar panels and a new pottery kiln.

“We are now calling on organisations, who might need a helping hand, to apply for funding through this year’s funding round.”

Cr Williams said Council had changed one of the grant program requirements to help reduce the burden on organisations and to provide more financial assistance for small capital projects.

“This year we have removed the 20 per cent in-kind contribution for small capital funding applications,” she said.

“We hope this will provide more opportunities for some of our smaller organisations to receive the financial support they need to undertake projects to enhance their operations and sustainability.”

Capital infrastructure grants are available in two categories:

Small capital funding up to $10,000, and Major capital funding between $10,001 and $50,000 (applicants must make a 50 per cent financial cash contribution).

Applications close on 11 September 2022.

Eligibility criteria and guidelines, along with information on how to submit an application, can be found on Council’s website at redland.qld.gov.au/grants
