Council is seeking to fill places on its Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Consultative (ATSIC) Committee. The purpose of Council’s Advisory Committees are to meet and provide advice and make recommendations to Council on key topics or matters central to engagement and strategic advice on issues affecting local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. Council is now seeking nominations for members of the Committee for the remainder of this Council term to September 2024. Committees have nominated Councillors sitting on them from the elected body, and are proposed to meet quarterly. The minutes of each Committee are reported to the Elected Council following the quarterly meetings.

The Terms of Reference provide an overview of the responsibilities of the Committee as well as how the Committee will operate. Please note that Members of a Committee are volunteers and are not remunerated for their time.
The Expressions of Interest for Council's ATSIC Committee are open from Friday 19 August until Friday 16 September 2022.

Email the completed Expression of Interest Nomination Form to [email protected], and quote subject line ‘Cumberland ATSIC Committees Expression of Interest Nomination’. Your email must be received by Friday 16 September 2022 in order for your nomination to be assessed. Post the completed Expression of Interest Nomination Form to Governance, Cumberland City Council, PO Box 42, Merrylands NSW 2160 and quote subject line ‘Cumberland ATSIC Committee Expression of Interest Nomination'. Please note we must receive your EOI by 5pm Friday 16 September 2022 2022 in order for your nomination to be assessed. (Nominations postmarked with Friday 16 September 2022 but received after this date will not be considered.)
