Miss the Council Meeting on Monday night? Here is a summary of the discussions (Date: 26 September 2022):
Council noted the City of Parramatta’s submission to the City of Ryde opposing a Planning Proposal seeking to rezone the former Marsden High School site at 22 Winbourne Street, West Ryde for public recreation and resolved for the Lord Mayor to write to the NSW Minister for Education (Item 8.1). Council congratulated the Parramatta Eels National Rugby League (NRL) and Women’s NRL (WNRL) teams for progressing to the Grand Final on Sunday, 2 October 2022 and wished them luck (Item 8.2). A rescission motion was considered to rescind the resolution of the Council in relation to Item 13.4 at the 12 September 2022 Council meeting. The Rescission was lost (Item 11.1). Council noted the Investment Report for August 2022 (Item 12.1). Council noted the minutes of the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee meeting held on 26 May 2022 (Item 12.2). Council noted the Quarter 4 (Q4) progress on implementing the Delivery Program 2018-22 and Operational Plan 2021/22 (Item 12.3). Council noted the Environmental Sustainability Strategy Progress Report for 2017-21 (Item 12.4). Council approved the planning proposal for the land at 353A-353C Church Street and part of 351 Church Street, Parramatta (Riverside Theatre site) for the purposes of being forwarded to the Department of Planning and Environment to request the issuing of a Gateway Determination (Item 13.1). Council endorsed the preferred name of ‘Bukbuk Walk” for an unnamed pedestrian thoroughfare connecting Forest Grove to Essex Street, Epping (Item 13.2). Council adopted the expenditure recommended by the Councillor Grants Committee for the July 2022 round of Community Events Grants as per attachment 1 to the Council report (Item 13.3). Council resolved to carry out specified works on private land for no fee at the Ermington Shopping Centre (Item 13.4). Council noted the planning activities to support and celebrate the Parramatta Eels making the Grand Final (Item 13.5). Council noted the Legal Status Report as at 31 August 2022 (Item 16.1).
