Jo Lockhart has spent years working in cafes and restaurants cooking home-style meals of all varieties and now she’s bring her skills to Scone at her local eatery, RJ’s Café.
“I’ve always been in the industry, I had a shop on the South Coast for three years than I ran a restaurant at a pub in Muswellbrook for a few years after that. So yeah, it’s always been in my blood,” said Jo.
“We’ve been open [at RJ’s Café] for four weeks now…We do coffee, milkshakes and all the essentials.
“We do eat in and take away burgers, lasagne, salads, a bit of everything.”
Jo said the community have welcomed her with open arms.
“It’s been great, people are loving it,” she said.
“Community support means everything, without it we don’t have a business.
“Everyone’s been very supportive and loving that we’re here after 3pm which is great.”
Jo loves to create home cooked meals for people to enjoy.
“We do home-made cheese cakes and all different cakes,” she said.
“We also do home-made meat pies and we make our own meat patties and homemade schnitzels for our burgers.
“We’ve got a nice outdoor area out the back where people can sit and bring their pets if they like too.”
RJ’s Café is located on Liverpool St next to Pet Medical. For more information visit their Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/rjscafes or stop in for a visit.
