Time is running out for people to provide ideas and suggestions for the design of the Bethania to Logan Village Rail Trail.
A six-week community consultation period started in August and will end on Wednesday, October 12.
The $7 million project is jointly funded by Logan City Council and the Queensland Government.
City Lifestyle Chair and Division 4 Councillor Laurie Koranski said community feedback would be a valuable contribution towards the rail trail design.
“The 10km trail is the first stage of a proposed 43km rail trail from Bethania to Beaudesert that will boost tourism, recreation opportunities and local economies,” Cr Koranski said.
“We’ve already seen how popular the Logan Village to Yarrabilba rail trail is for walkers, joggers and cyclists since it opened last year.”
Council wants to hear from the community before the design phase begins.
Design work for the Bethania to Logan Village rail trail is due to start in November with construction planned for 2024.
Cr Koranski said she was encouraged by the community input so far.
“We’ve had some great ideas and feedback, but we don’t want anyone to miss out if they have something to add,” she said.
