Bay Islands Aquatic Centre re-opening delayed due to electrical fault
Redland City Council 13 Sep 2022

A recent site audit of Bay Islands Aquatic Centre has identified an electrical fault at the premises.

The audit was conducted by Education Queensland, which has advised Council the Department’s contractor will attend the site on 21 September to assess the fault and commence the repair work.

While Council manages the centre, Education Queensland owns the facility and is responsible for funding and delivering any associated repair works.

To ensure the safety of all patrons, the centre’s post-winter reopening will be delayed until after the repairs are complete.

Council acknowledges the delayed opening may cause inconvenience to patrons and continues to work with Education Queensland on this matter; and will keep the community updated.

Once the work has been carried out, summer trading hours will come into effect at the Bay Island Aquatic Centre as follows:

Monday – 6am-6pm

Tuesday – 3pm-6pm

Wednesday – 6am-6pm

Thursday – 6am-9am and 3pm to 6pm

Friday – 6am-9am and 3pm to 6pm

Saturday & Sunday – 9am-5pm

School Holidays – 6am-5pm
