It’s that time of year again – time to start thinking about nominating inspiring individuals for a Federation Council Australia Day Award.
Each year, Federation Council invites nominations for the Australia Day Awards which are presented to local individuals or groups who have made an outstanding contribution to our community at the Official Australia Day Awards Ceremony.
Federation Council Mayor, Councillor Patrick Bourke is encouraging people to start considering that someone who makes a fantastic contribution to the community. “There are many deserving people and community groups in our community who do wonderful things that often go unnoticed," he said.
"This could be a friend, someone at your sports club or community association or someone you know doing great work serving the community.” Mayor Bourke said being nominated for an Australian Day Award is a great honour, and it is a wonderful opportunity to appreciate those inspiring people in our community, who make you proud to be an Australian.
"If you know someone worthy of recognition, I encourage you to nominate them today," he said.
The nomination period for the 2023 Australia Day Awards will open on Monday, October 3 and close on Friday, December 2 2022.
