DENILIQUIN POOL OPERATIONS MOTION NOT RESCINDED

At an Extraordinary Meeting held Friday 26 August 2022, Council agreed to consider the rescission motion relating to the tender of the operation management of the Deniliquin Swim Centre, as an urgent item of business.

This was in response to community feedback, and a rescission motion put forward by Councillors Burge, Clapham and Fogarty.

After a robust debate, Councillors resolved to not rescind the motion CONTRACT C2022/23 - OPERATION AND MANAGEMENT OF DENILIQUIN SWIM CENTRE AND HYDROTHERAPY POOL.

Edward River Council General Manager, Phil Stone said, “We will now continue as planned with the winning tender, Lifeguarding Services Australia.”  “This was never going to be a popular decision; however, Council does have the responsibility to balance community desires and expectations with operational aspects,” said Mayor Cr Peta Betts.
