Kerbside bins

Collection of your household kerbside bins will recommence today (Thursday) for areas that are safe for drivers to access.

Your regular collection day will remain the same. If your bin is missed please leave it out for an additional day. If your bin is still not collected, bring it in to your property and put it out the following week. Your yellow lid and green lid bins will alternate as per the regular schedule. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to collect bins that were missed earlier this week due to the flood emergency. For those who missed out collection this week, please leave your bins on the nature strip and they will be picked up either on the next scheduled collection day or earlier depending on resourcing availability. If your bin is too full it can be emptied at your nearest Resource Recovery Centre (see below).

Please show kindness and respect to the drivers and understand they will be unable to enter floodwaters or drive on unsafe roads. The team are operating with reduced staff and are members of our community who have also been impacted by the floods.

Please do not place any loose rubbish or items on nature strips. We are unable to collect from nature strips and we urge residents to take hard rubbish to their closest Resource Recovery Centre.

If the Resource Recovery Centre closest to you is currently not open, please keep an eye out for information on when normal services and operating times will resume.

Resource Recovery Centres

We will be waiving fees at our Resource Recovery Centres and extending hours to assist community members with disposing of flood waste.

Ardmona and Shepparton Resource Recovery Centres are currently  open and accepting waste, including rubbish from your kerbside bins at no charge for domestic customers.

Resource Recovery Centre Hours of Operation

Please note Murchison Resource Recovery Centre is currently closeddue to flooding. Operating hours will be posted when available.

Skip bins

Skip Bins have been placed around Murchison for residents to dispose of their hard rubbish. They are currently located:

Murchison Recreation Reserve Jaycee Park (near Tennis Courts) Near the public toilets at the Historical Society Grain Corp entrance opposite the Murchison East Pub

This list will be updated here and on Council's Facebook page as more locations come to hand.

Flood-effected household clean-up If you are able to get to a Resource Recovery Centre to dispose of flood waste, all fees are waived. We have a limited collection service for those who are unable to dispose of flood damaged materials. This will be collected from naturestrips throughout the region. For rural properties, a seperate collection schedule is being planned and will be shared in due course. In the meantime, please do not place your flood-damaged materials on the roadside as this can cause risk to traffic. If you suspect asbestos please DO NOT place it on naturestrips for collection. Any waste suspected of containing asbestos will not be collected and poses a risk to the community. Please contact a professional removalist for advice. Cosgrove Landfill

Cosgrove Landfill is now open under normal operating hours:

Monday to Friday: 8am to 3pm Saturday: 9am to 11am

A reminder to residents that Cosgrove Landfill accepts commercial waste only and is not open to residential customers.
