The Role:
As a Metal Fabricator you will perform high quality design and fabrication tasks to upkeep, maintain and improve Council infrastructure. This may involve working with teams across Council’s workgroups.
The role involves physically demanding work to be undertaken in a hot and humid climate on a daily basis and the Metal Fabricator must ensure they are and remain physically fit and able to efficiently and consistently undertake these tasks.
This position may be required to participate in the on-call roster.

You will have good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills You will have highly developed numeracy skills You are able to work successfully within a small team environment, autonomously and to problem solve You will have high level trade skills relevant to the position You will have sound understanding of local government practices and procedures or an ability to obtain this You will also have knowledge of and experience complying with WHS and environmental legislative requirementsEssential Qualifications, Experience & Skills (Mandatory for the position)
Current Queensland MR driver’s licence or willingness to obtain one Trade qualification in structural steel fabrication Demonstrated experience working as a special class welder Working at Heights and Confined Space training or willingness to complete Queensland Construction White CardDesirable Skills
Experience maintaining water reticulation infrastructure for example water and sewer mains Competency in operating plant including forkliftWhat we can offer you:
