Has someone in your neighbourhood achieved outstanding things this year?
Does someone in your community strive to make the lives of others better, for little or no reward?
If you know a City of Logan resident deserving of recognition, now is the time to share their story.
Nominations for Logan City Council’s 2023 Australia Day Awards are open.
Mayor Darren Power said Council is seeking extraordinary people who have gone above and beyond for, or in the name of, the City of Logan.
“Every year, our Australia Day Awards are our opportunity to thank those who have inspired us and kept our city thriving,” Cr Power said.
“Past winners have proven that there are some amazing people across our city who for one reason or another, fly under the radar in terms of recognition.
“Whether these people are community service champions, or simply high achievers in their field, we want to know about them.
“Please don’t keep these special City of Logan stories to yourself.”
City Lifestyle Chair, Councillor Laurie Koranski said individuals of all ages were eligible for recognition.
“We want to hear about any City of Logan resident who is doing amazing or selfless things,” Cr Koranski said.
“Our community is better when we support each other and these awards are a great way to show our gratitude to our local champions.”
The Citizen of the Year award is presented to a City of Logan resident for outstanding endeavour, achievement, or community involvement.
Nominees aged 27 years or under on Australia Day (January 26) are eligible for the Young Person of the Year award, which is presented for outstanding contribution to the community.
