Central Highlands Regional Council set to represent the region in Rural Management Challenge next week

Posted on November 11, 2022

Central Highlands Regional Council will represent the region next week in the Central Queensland Local Government Managers Australia Queensland Rural Management Challenge.

The challenge is an annual development program providing real-life problem-solving experiences based on situations that councils manage daily.

Four of CHRC’s future leaders will attend this year’s challenge, bringing skillsets from information and communication technology, planning and environment, customer service, and public relations.

‘We treasure these professional development opportunities for our staff and avidly encourage our team members to get involved,’ said Chief Executive Officer Sharon Houlihan.

‘Whilst our team all works for the same community, they sit in different sections of council, so it has been an exciting time watching the team prepare and experience working with staff members they may not have had the pleasure of working with in the past.’

‘The challenge is something we have been participating in as a council for over 5 years and we will continue doing into the future,’ Ms. Houlihan said.
