Work has started on repairs to the slip on the western abutment of the Geneva Bridge.
Contractors will be installing “soil nails” over the next 10 days and will then shotcrete scour protection around the abutment.
These are interim works to protect the structure while Council awaits the final design and repairs. This is expected to be a major project and will take much of next year to complete.
Contractors are working to repair a landslip on Haystack Road and works also will start within the next month on eight landslips on Wainwrights, Tabulam, Davis, and Williams roads.
Flood damage drainage crews are this week working on Davis, Green Pigeon, Jasper Iverson, Old Cobb O Corn, Lynches Creek, Ghinni Ghi, Old Lawrence, Bingeebeebra, and Pitches roads. The drainage crews will move on to the following roads in upcoming weeks: Killaloe, Proctors, Elliotts, Slaughter Gully, Newtons, Brown Knob, Pines, Roseberry Creek and Eggins.
Council is currently grading and carrying out flood damage repairs at Gradys Creek, Bingeebeebra, Needhams, and Horseshoe Creek roads. Crews will then move to Brindle Creek, Eggins, Jasper Iverson and Green Pigeon roads.
Pothole patching is continuing on Clarence Way and Gradys Creek Road.
Construction crews continue to work on Dyraaba Road, the Bruxner Highway at Mallanganee Range, and on Clarence Way at Sandilands. A construction crew continues to carry out repairs to the most heavily potholed sections of Clarence Way around Medhurst.
One of bridge crews is now working on the replacement Olesens Bridge on Collins Creek Road, while the approaches to the new Curtis Dip bridge on Duck Creek Road are expected to be completed by December.
Works are in progress on Capeen Creek Bridge No 1 and 2, Armstrongs Bridge on Tunglebung Creek Road, and bridges on Pines Road and Iron Pot Creek Road.
Council has finished work on a new double culvert on Bolziccos Road and is now working on a new culvert on Wiangaree Back Road.
Construction of the viewing platform at Norman Johnston Park has been completed
