Queen's Jubilee Tree Planting
West Tamar Council 22 Nov 2022

Tuesday, 15 November 2022

Queen’s Jubilee Tree Planting Monday 14th November 2022 was a busy day for Mayor Christina Holmdahl and Liberal Member for Bass, Bridget Archer MP who officially opened two new tree plantings which were funded by the Australian Government’s Planting Trees for The Queen’s Jubilee Program.

The first event was held at a very rainy Assisi Ave in Riverside where a new avenue of Acer Sensations were planted. Originally identified by Councillor Lyons, our Parks & Reserves team worked hard to ensure this is a relaxing green space for locals to enjoy.

The second event was held on Weld Street, Beaconsfield where street trees have been planted for beautification of the town. Following on from the Plane Trees at the southern entrance to the town, the new trees are planted in front of RSL Park, with plans to extend them further in 2023. This project is jointly funded by the Australian Government’s Planting Trees for The Queen’s Jubilee Program, West Tamar Council and the Rotary Club of West Tamar.
