RADF round 1 recipients announced

Central Highlands Regional Council is pleased to announce that 4 applicants were successful in receiving funding from the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF).

‘The latest funding allocation in round one totalled $46,046,’ Central Highlands Mayor Kerry Hayes said.

‘This round of applications was the most competitive in five years, with an excellent array of quality submissions from across the region.

‘I congratulate all the grant recipients on their dedication to increasing arts and culture opportunities in our community and am excited to see the latest round of events come to fruition. We encourage those who were not successful in this round to reapply in future.’

The successful applicants were:

Magic Mountain Arts Inc. – ‘Creative Muster 2023’ event offering a weekend of creative workshops in Springsure under the instruction of seven professional tutors experienced in their field/mediumCentral Highlands Music Festival Inc. – for hire of stage and sound equipment for an outdoor gala concert in Emerald, the culmination of wind band and choir workshops across the region with school students and community membersRolleston Rag Inc. – workshops held in Rolleston in photography utilising digital cameras and mobile phones and storytelling, podcasting, and social mediaCapella State School P&C – Small Town Culture workshop with Josh Arnold for Capella State School students to produce a community song and film clip to present at the 140-year celebrations of Capella in 2023

‘Established in 1991, RADF is a long-standing success story between the Queensland Government and regional councils, enabling local artists and arts workers to tell their rich and unique stories, boosting regional employment opportunities and other positive economic outcomes,’ Minister for the Arts Leanne Enoch said.  

‘For 31 years RADF has provided a legacy of creating new art and cultural experiences for Queensland audiences and communities, and a platform for professional development and growth across the regional arts sector.’

Round 2 is now open with a total $10,345 available in the round. Applications are due by Friday 24 February 2023.
