Greater Shepparton City Council’s Manager Active Living, David Booth says time spent at the outdoor pools over summer is a much loved tradition for many families and individuals in Greater Shepparton.

“Cherished childhood memories are made at the local outdoor pools over summer, with families and friends making the most of the opportunity to connect and enjoy one another’s company. We are lucky to have such great facilities in our rural towns”, Mr Booth said.

And with the indoor and outdoor pools at Aquamoves still some weeks away from re-opening due to damage from the recent flood, the seasonal rural pools provide the ideal alternative.

“I encourage people in our small towns, as well as those in Shepparton to make the most of these important community facilities. Whether you want to do some laps or just have fun, including taking the family out to the Merrigum Splash Park, the pools provide a safe family environment for a refreshing cool off”, Mr Booth said.

Council is also offering an all new Summer Family Pool Membership with access to all three rural pools, plus the indoor and outdoor pools and Splash Park (once re-opened) at Aquamoves. The membership is available for $295 and can be used by a group of five people over a period of five months. Terms and conditions apply with the option to add more people to the membership at an additional cost.

The rural outdoor pools will remain open until the second weekend in March, with the final day of the outdoor pool season being Sunday 12 March 2023.
