Mareeba Shire is looking bright and festive in time for Christmas, after Council and The Express Newspaper’s “Light up for Christmas” Christmas Lights Competition received 30 entries!
Mareeba Shire Mayor Angela Toppin encourages residents to get out and enjoy the Christmas Lights Trail.
“This event really contributes to the community spirit and the annual Christmas lights drive by has become a tradition for many families,” Mayor Toppin said.
“Our communities and communities across Australia, have faced tough times in recent years and it is my hope that this Christmas, people take time to rest and reflect, and look forward to 2023 and beyond.”
“I would like to thank all the nominees for bringing the Christmas spirit to our Shire,” Mayor Angela Toppin concluded.
Judging will take place from Monday, 12 December 2022 to Wednesday, 14 December 2022 and the winners will be announced on Friday, 16 December 2022.
The winner of each category will be awarded a cash prize of $150.
