Each year the Shepparton event brings hundreds of family and friends together to celebrate the festive season with singing, dancing and entertainment and this year’s presentation promises to be especially significant.

We are honoured to have some familiar faces and brand-new stars to grace the stage to perform everyone’s favourite Christmas songs and carols.

To help you have the best night possible, we’ve put together a short list of tips.

Bring with you low fold out chairs, picnic rugs, cushions or blankets to make an ideal spot in the garden. Remember the show starts at 6.30pm, it’s recommended you arrive earlier to get a spot. Make sure you wear comfortable, weather appropriate clothing including hats and sunglasses for sun safety and jackets for when the sun goes down. This time of year mosquitoes are out and about, please apply insect repellent or wear loose clothing to avoid being bitten. You are welcome to bring in your own food and sealed water, please be mindful of waste and no alcohol is to be consumed at the event. Food and drink will be available for purchase from local vendors and community groups. All vendors will be accepting cash and card payments, however the community barbecue will be cash only. When travelling please be aware of the road works in the area. For the event Nixon street will be closed between Welsford and Wyndham Streets from 4.30pm to 10pm, Sunday 18 December. The current Welsford Street intersection works will also be in place.

“We’re looking forward to seeing you all at Carols by Candlelight this weekend, it will be a perfect evening to come out and have a fantastic time with your family and friends,” Mayor for Greater Shepparton Cr Sali said.

“This is the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the holidays and reflect on the 2022 year.”

The event will be live streamed to Christmas lovers in the region, you can watch it from 6.30pm on Council’s website.
