The theme for the 2022/2023 Summer Reading Club is Circus.

The Summer Reading Club runs from Monday 19 December 2022 to Friday 27 January 2023, but you can get ready now by picking up your free starter pack at any of our library locations. Participants must have their own library card.

Weekly prize draws

From 12 December, visit staff at one of our libraries to register your library card for the Summer Reading Club. The club will run for 5 weeks, and a prize will be randomly awarded each week. 

To enter the weekly draw for a prize, simply borrow a book or two that week.

Book review competition

If you love reading, you can share your favourite book with others by entering our Book Review Competition.

The weekly book review competition is split into two age categories, with prizes awarded to the most creative entries in each category.

5 to 10 years 11 to 16 years

A book review's purpose is to help people decide whether a book would interest them enough to read it. Reviews are a sneak peek at a book, not a summary.

Drawing competition

The drawing competition is split into two age categories, with prizes awarded to the most creative entries in each category.

5 to 10 years 11 to 16 years

If you love to read, share your favourite book with other readers by entering our drawing competition.

To enter, draw a scene or character from your favourite book to encourage others to read it too.
