Council crews were kept busy last night (3 January) and today clearing trees and debris from roads in the Woodenbong area after a violent storm swept through on Tuesday evening.
While a fair mess remains, Boomi Creek Road is the only road left closed. It is expected to be re-opened sometime tomorrow.
Council’s work crews will progressively return to work over the coming weeks, however work has started on new bridges on Levers Road and Horseshoe Creek Road and a grading crew is working on Trentys Lane.
All the road construction crews remain on leave.
A pothole patching crew is working on Kyogle Road this week (when it’s not clearing trees downed in the storm). Another pothole patching team will return to work next week and the two crews will then be targeting Clarence Way, Bentley Road, and Cawongla Road.
Work on the landslips and gravel road flood damage repairs will recommence from 9 January.
