Young people aged 12 – 18 years are invited to the City of Rockingham’s Youth Beach Party 2023, which will be held on Tuesday 17 January from 1pm – 4pm at Rockingham Foreshore.
The event will be delivered by the Rockingham Youth Centre (RYC) team as part of the City’s Summer Series of free-entry, family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free events.
It will feature live music from youth artists and DJ Jeremy Tucker, waterslides, a cultural activity marquee, beach volleyball, inflatable dodgeball and a photo booth. Free burgers, slushies, chilled drinking water and sunscreen will be available.
Royal Life Saving WA will be in attendance to share water safety messages, while the Rockingham Youth Reference Group will also run activities throughout the day helping to promote the RYC.
The City’s security teams will be present to ensure attendees can enjoy the event safely. Helping Minds and headspace will also be creating a chill out zone for young people to relax.
City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin said the Youth Beach Party gave young people an opportunity to socialise and enjoy the Rockingham Foreshore in a relaxed and safe environment.
“The Youth Beach Party is a popular annual event that gives local young people the chance to connect and enjoy an afternoon just for them at our spectacular foreshore,” Mayor Hamblin said.
Young people will need to check in with the RYC team at the entry to point to collect an event wrist band – this will ensure all visitors can enjoy the activities, food and drink on offer.“Given the likelihood of hot weather, we also strongly encourage attendees to be SunSmart and follow the guidelines of ‘slip, slop, slap, seek and slide’ to protect themselves.”
Tickets are required to attend the event. For more information or to register for a ticket visit Youth Beach Party 2023.
