Community members are invited to the Mary Davies Library and Community Centre (MDLCC) Open Day on Friday 13 January 2023 from 9am – 12pm, with a wide range of fun, free activities on offer.
The MDLCC is located on Settlers Avenue in Baldivis and offers a wide range of programs, events and activities for residents of all ages and backgrounds.
During the MDLCC Open Day event visitors will be able to enjoy an author expo, storytelling, face painting, water and sensory play, sand art, a treasure hunt, a virtual reality experience and technology for visitors to try.
Community groups that regularly use the facility will also be hosting stalls to showcase their respective organisations, while there will also be morning tea and a dedicated play space for children under the age of five.
City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin encouraged community members to come and explore everything the MDLCC has to offer.
“The MDLCC is a contemporary, cutting-edge library service and multi-purpose community centre that has served Baldivis and the surrounding areas since it opened in 2014,” Mayor Hamblin said.
Whether it is books, eBooks, magazines, movie screenings, a wide range of digital resources, utilising meeting rooms or the activity spaces available – the MDLCC is a hive of activity and our Open Day event is a fantastic opportunity for people to explore the facility.“Through our Library and Information Services Strategy we are committed to making our libraries flexible, innovative, creative and inclusive spaces that reinforce the concept of Rockingham as a ‘learning community.’
