The role:

The Asset Accountant is responsible for ensuring the fulfilment of obligations in relation to all aspects of asset accounting. The position works in close liaison with the Senior Accountant and Manager Finance and supervises the Graduate Accountant.

We appreciate asset accounting is a specialised area and we may not be able to find a suitable applicant to perform all of the duties and responsibilities of the role.  If you are not suitably qualified to take on all of the duties and responsibilities of the role but could perform a significant portion, or if you require some flexibility around full-time hours or working remotely, we would still like to hear from you.  Remuneration will be adjusted accordingly.

What we are looking for:

You will have ideally completed a tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related discipline and have five years of experience in a similar role but we may consider candidates who, for example, are currently undertaking but have not completed relevant study or have extensive relevant experience You will be self-motivated and highly organised with the ability to work autonomously while also possessing well-developed interpersonal skills enabling you to effectively liaise, consult and negotiate with internal and external customers to ensure financial reporting targets are achieved You will have a thorough understanding of the Australian Accounting Standards and general accounting principles and be adept at problem solving, prioritising, time management and quality assurance You will have a consistent track record of achievement in preparing and presenting high-quality reports and submissions of a complex and substantial nature, formulating recommendations and evaluating projects
