KidsTown’s grounds and areas of attraction have all been refreshed with newly laid soft fall and the precinct’s gravel pathways have been levelled, sink holes filled and new garden mulch laid.

Greater Shepparton City Council Acting Director Community, David Booth, says getting KidsTown ready for use again has been a team effort with help provided from a number of community groups.

“We would like to thank the hard work provided by many Council departments, as well as Kiwanis Shepparton Sunrisers, Corrections Victoria, Cleaves Earthmoving and Garden Supplies, Blow it Mulch and TakeOva Security.”

“These groups have all helped get KidsTown ready to open its gates again and Council is very pleased to be reopening this much loved community asset,” Mr Booth said.

KidsTown’s Dig In Café and catering services, area bookings, indoor facilities, the Sprout Edible Garden and Disc Golf Course will all be available from this Saturday. Unfortunately due to extensive damage the Miniature Train Line will not be opening for the foreseeable future.

Council also advises visitors to be mindful of mosquitoes when visiting the playground and to plan ahead by using insect repellent, wearing loose fitting long clothing and heading home before dusk.
