Future of Fawckner Drive Precinct

Published on 25 January 2023

Benalla Rural City Council is seeking community input for the development of a strategic plan for the Fawckner Drive Precinct.

The precinct will provide recreational opportunities for a wide range of ages, abilities, and be suitable for bikes, scooters, skateboards, and rollerblades. The preliminary design includes an upgraded skatepark, new skate plaza, pump track and spaces for a multipurpose court, terrace seating, multi-functional active social and event spaces.

Mayor Bernie Hearn said “the proposed Fawckner Drive Precinct Plan will be a real asset for our town. We expect to receive strong support from the local community, with a particular interest from the youth of Benalla.

An onsite face to face consultation with contracted design experts Playce will happen as part of the skate, BMX and scoot competition on Saturday 28 January. I encourage everyone to come down to watch our local talent and have your say on the initial ideas plan.”
