Charters Towers locals will be able to learn about the wide range of sporting clubs, community groups, and volunteering opportunities available in the Region at this month’s Sign On Day.
This event is a great way for people of all ages and abilities to find out what is on offer in the Region, with some of the exhibitors this year including the Charters Towers Tennis Club, Towers Kart Racing Club, Charters Towers Women of the Outback Shed Inc, Dalrymple Country Music Club Inc, and Charters Towers Scout Group.
Councillor Kate Hastie said having our local groups and organisations under the one roof at the one time provides the community with the perfect chance to ask questions, get more information about the different sports, clubs, and groups, and sign up on the day if something sparks your interest.
“The Sign On Day provides the opportunity for many of our sporting clubs and community groups to showcase what they have to offer to people of all ages and abilities to community members who might not know about them or what they do,” said Councillor Hastie.
The Sign On Day is being held at the Arthur Titley Centre on Saturday, 25 February 2023 from 10 am to 1pm.
Local sporting clubs and community organisations wanting to be part of the day are also being encouraged secure their spot and register their interest.
The event is free for exhibitors and the public to attend and a free sausage sizzle will also be on offer.
“Council is happy to see this event return following disruptions due to COVID-19.
“The Sign On Day is a great way for clubs and groups to spread awareness, answer any questions people may have, and hopefully get some more people from the community involved in a fun and relaxed environment,” continued Councillor Hastie.
