A report detailing the much-needed infrastructure and community projects in the Upper Hunter Shire has been released. The "Projects for Funding Consideration" report outlines a comprehensive list of initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for the residents of the region.

The report highlights the need for repairs and upgrades to rural unsealed roads, rural sealed roads, concrete causeways, regional sealed roads, and the construction of a northern overpass in Scone to improve access to the industrial area. In addition, the report calls for urban street renewal and repair, timber bridge replacement, and upgrades to sporting grounds, parks, footpaths, and cycleways. The renewal and upgrades of public pools and the water and sewer network are also listed as priorities.

Furthermore, the report highlights the need for community service projects such as the development of the Scone library at Campbell's Corner, along with landfill closures, cost-shifting for council-supported emergency services, and the reclassification of regional and local road networks to state or regional status.

The release of this report comes ahead of the March 2023 NSW state election for the seat of Upper Hunter, providing candidates with a clear understanding of the infrastructure and community needs of the region. The report highlights the importance of greater funding for the Upper Hunter Shire, to ensure the continued growth and development of the region.

The "Projects for Funding Consideration" report serves as a call to action for the NSW government and the candidates contesting the upcoming state election to prioritise the needs of the Upper Hunter Region and invest in its future.
