Council to resume services from Civic Centre

Published on 10 February 2023

Council is pleased to advise that the Corowa Civic Centre has been deemed safe to re-open from Monday, February 13.

Following extensive flooding causing access issues and building damage late last year, Council services regularly located at the Civic Centre have been operating at Oddfellows Hall and at 11 Sanger Street, Corowa.

Federation Council Mayor, Cr Pat Bourke said Council welcomed the news that the Civic Centre had been deemed safe to re-open.

“The Council building was heavily impacted by the floods, and unfortunately because of the duration of the flood and water inundating the building there were a series of issues Council has had to manage in respect to building damage, insurance assessments and mould,” he said.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for their patience and understanding whilst Council worked diligently to have the building in a state to safely reopen. I would also like to thank the staff involved in managing this work.”
