To keep our community up to date with key Council decisions, outcomes and plans; here is a snapshot summary from Council’s Wednesday 8 February Council meeting.    

Petitions Hollydell Dog Park, Trafalgar

Council tabled a petition of 42 signatories relating to Hollydell Dog Park, Trafalgar. An officer response will be scheduled for an upcoming Council Meeting. 

Strategy and Organisational Performance Annual Update on Council's Municipal Early Years Plan (2019-2023)

Council endorsed the report on the implementation of Council's Municipal Early Years Plan.

Governance and Information Services

Instrument of Appointment and Authorisation under the Planning and Environment Act 1987

In the exercise of the powers conferred by section 147 (4) of the Planning and Environment Act 1987, section 224 of the Local Government Act 1989 and section 313 of the Local Government Act 2020, Baw Baw Shire Council resolves that:

The members of Council staff referred to in the instrument be appointed and authorised as set out in the instrument; The instrument comes into force immediately the common seal of Council is affixed to the instrument, and remains in force until Council determines to vary or revoke it; and, In accordance with Council's Governance Rules, the instrument be signed and sealed.  Notices of Motion Baxter Park, Warragul

Council moved to:

Provide portable change rooms at Baxter Park, Warragul to allow the club to continue to play competition games on the synthetic pitch at Baxter Park, Warragul;  Allocate an additional $80,000 exc GST to the Baxter Park Pavilion Upgrade project from savings resulting from deferred projects from 2022-2023 Capital Program; and,  Develop a policy for the development of pavilions, which shall include a policy position for the decanting of user groups for future pavilion projects. General Business Motion

Council passed a Bereavement Motion on the passing of Warragul netball stalwart Sandra Hoskins. There was a Civic Ceremony in which Cr Kostos presented Council a gift from the Tetoora Road Committee.

Mayoral Minute

Cr McCabe used her Mayoral Minute to reflect on her recent leave of absence to run for the seat of Narracan, and promote the art exhibition currently on show.
