Koondrook Kindergarten children will benefit from the recent installation of a new facility when the 2023 education year begins on Wednesday, 8 February.
Gannawarra Shire Council partnered with the Victorian School Building Authority to install a new modular building at Koondrook Primary School.
“The new Koondrook Kindergarten will meet the needs of families within Koondrook and district, catering for the expansion of the State Government’s Best Start, Best Life reforms,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
“The installation of the new modular building created plenty of excitement for last year’s cohort of kindergarten children and Koondrook Primary School students prior to the end of the 2022 school year.”
The new building, located adjacent to Punt Road, features its own administration facilities, an area for Maternal and Child Health services and a dedicated outdoor learning area.
“The new building will ensure children will have the best start possible on their educational journey in the Gannawarra,” Mr Rollinson said.
“These works also build on the expansion of the Gannawarra Shire Children’s Centre at Kerang, completed in 2022, and ongoing investigations regarding future child care and kindergarten options in Cohuna.”
