If you’re on the hunt for some cow manure, the Emerald sale yards is giving it away for free.
Cow manure is made up of digested grass and grain. It contains nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, all of which act as a great natural fertiliser.
‘The upgrades at the sale yards have made a really positive impact on this valuable service to the community,’ said General Manager Commercial and Corporate Services Carolyn Knudsen.
‘As a result, we have an abundance of manure. A challenge for us but an opportunity for the community to help us out.’
Head down to the saleyards (2 Batts St, Emerald QLD 4720) on the first Friday of every month from 1.00 pm to 3.30 pm. Bring your own ute/trailer as the manure is not bagged.
‘Our staff will be more than happy to assist by loading the manure with our equipment,’ she said.
