Wyndham Cultural Centre is delighted to welcome the musicians from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to perform great orchestral classics on Wednesday 15 March 2023 at 1pm.
The breathtaking performance will be conducted and led by emerging conductor and accomplished violinist, Australia's leading First Nations conductor Aaron Wyatt.
This concert traverses the tranquil fields of Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony, the winter wonderland of a Russian Christmas in Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker as well as the steamy dance halls of Bizet's Carmen Suite and Ravel's Bolero.
Aaron premiered Deborah Cheetham’s new work, Nanyubak, for viola and orchestra as a soloist with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in 2021, and became the
first Indigenous Australian to conduct one of the state symphony orchestras in concert when conducting the MSO’s performance of Long Time Living Here last year at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
Wyndham City’s Creative City portfolio holder Cr Marcel Mahfoud said: “Whether you are a lover of orchestra or brand new to classical music, this concert will be a mesmerising and engaging way to experience the magic of the MSO live in concert right here in Wyndham.”
“Join the musicians of the MSO as they play in specially crafted arrangements some of the most much-loved music for this small ensemble.”
“With tickets only $10 it a great opportunity to experience the magical wonder of the orchestra in Werribee without having to travel.”
