Applications are now open for round two of Redland City Council’s 2022–2023 Sponsorship Program.

Mayor Karen Williams said the initiative provided financial and in-kind support to eligible organisations for projects, events or activities that delivered benefits to the community.

“Redlands Coast is a vibrant city of vital, forward-thinking and creative communities, and Council strives to support them in ways that make a difference,” Cr Williams said.

“Council offers two rounds of sponsorship each year to help local organisations, community groups and individuals run a diverse range of events and initiatives that directly benefit our community.

“These activities could include conferences, expos or cultural, music and sporting events and festivals.

“Further funding is available to support activities such as Quandamooka dancers, cultural demonstrations and smoking ceremonies, which Council sees as a vital part of supporting Quandamooka cultural awareness and inclusion.

“Council is excited to see what initiatives will be put forward this year and looks forward to supporting local events which will not only appeal to our residents but will attract visitors from far and wide.”

Sponsorship is available in two categories – minor activities up to $15,000 or major activities from $15,001 up to $30,000.

Additional funding of up to $1500 is offered for Quandamooka Cultural Awareness activities.

Applications close on 5 March 2023.
