Council has now completed 53 of the 93 bridges we received funding to replace under the Fixing Country Bridges, Bridge Renewal and Page Bridge Package programs.
The latest bridges opened to traffic were Capeen Creek No.2 and Iron Pot Creek Bridge. Both were finished last week.
Bridge crews are currently working on new bridges on Chestnut, Larsson, Deep Creek, Levers and Duck Creek roads. Work will start within the next few weeks on bridge replacements on Baileys Bridge Road, Old Cob O Corn Road and Tims Lane.
Baileys Bridge Road will remain closed while the work is undertaken and Tims Lane will be closed when work starts. Old Cob O Corn Road will also be closed at the bridge, however Council is working with locals to minimise disruptions.
Flood damage drainage repairs are currently being undertaken on Kyogle, Peacock Creek, Eden Creek, Roseberry Creek, Ettrick, Imesons, Joyces and Babyl Creek roads.
Grading crews are doing flood damage repairs on Old Lawrence, Coxs, Doohans, Beech, and Pines roads. Once these roads are finished, the graders will move to Turpentine, Warrazambil Creek, Apple Tree, Taylors, Dingo Gully, McClelland, Williams, Provians, Babyl Creek, Gooleys and Edenville roads.
Sealed road flood damage repairs are in progress on Peacock Creek, Kyogle, Findon Creek, and McDonalds Bridge roads. Remediation works on Clarence Way between Woodenbong and Urbenville are continuing.
Work to repair landslips on Tabulam, Kyogle and Creegans roads is progressing. Work will start on landslips on Peacock Creek, Horseshoe Creek and Hayes roads within the next week.
Council has so far completed repairs on 19 of the 95 identified landslips on its road network. A further 15 are programmed to be repaired soon, while repairs to another 13 are currently in design.
