City of Logan residents are encouraged to step up to clean up this Sunday, March 5 for Clean Up Australia Day.

Hundreds of community events will be held across the country in a bid to preserve Australia’s natural beauty.

Logan City Council is supporting Clean Up Australia Day events across the City, including one at Gould Adams Park, Kingston Road, Kingston from 9am to noon.

Environment Chair Cr Jon Raven encouraged Logan residents to grab their gloves and get involved.

“Clean Up Australia Day is a great opportunity to bring our community together and work to keep our natural environment clean and green,” Cr Raven said.

“We want to see residents of all ages keeping an eye on the environment, cleaning up that bit of litter when you see it and putting it straight in the bin.”

Infrastructure Chair and Division 2 Cr Teresa Lane said that it would be fantastic to see residents get involved in her division's clean up at Scrubby Creek, Kingston.

“It’s important that we all work together to take positive action to protect our environment,” Cr Lane said.

“Division 2 residents have clean ups planned for Saturday and Sunday to make sure we get the best outcome for our local area and everyone is welcome to come along."

Residents attending Clean Up Australia Day events are asked to bring their own water bottle and a set of garden gloves, as well as a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and closed in shoes.
