Wind back the clock and get a glimpse into the days of old during the City of Wanneroo’s Australian Heritage Festival celebrations this autumn.
Coordinated by the National Trust, the Australian Heritage Festival is the country's largest community-driven celebration of heritage.
This year, the City’s celebrations include a series of free, family-friendly community events running at Buckingham House, Cockman House and a variety of other locations across the City throughout April and May.
The theme of this year’s Festival is ‘Shared Stories’. Visitors to the City’s heritage houses will be transported back in time to discover the fascinating tales contained within the walls of the historic buildings.

Sketch the past

Buckingham House, 10 Neville Drive Wanneroo 10am to 12pm, Sundays 16 April to 14 MayStep back in time to 1899 to discover some of the Wanneroo Schoolhouse’s extraordinary stories, practise copperplate writing, dress up for an old school photo and much more.
The City is also running a series of events focused on shared heritage, including Noongar language singing workshops, rope-making history and demonstrations, a weaving workshop, migration memoir writing and bush tucker gardening sessions.
