The Visitor Experience Innovation Grants aim to assist businesses in Greater Shepparton’s Visitor Economy Industry to undertake initiatives and projects that will assist to improve the tourism offering in the region and support business sustainability.

After introducing the grant in 2020, more than 18 local businesses have received funding for projects and have seen EV Charging stations installed at businesses, interactive displays and the commissioning of artists for installations such as La Zingara at Longleat and Tank’s Galah at the Milkbar.

Open until Monday 10 April a total grant pool of $35,000 is available for this round and Council encourages the following sectors to bring projects forward to further enhance the visitor experience; Accommodation, Passenger Transport Providers, Event Suppliers and Contractors Tour Companies, Attractions, Wellness Tourism, Farm Gate Experiences.

Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Councillor Shane Sali said the region has seen an influx of travellers and it would not slow down.

“Our businesses need to look at how else we can service the community and visitors and make people want to see and do more in our region,” Cr Sali said.

“These investments and projects will enhance the visitor experience, grow visitation, increase the length of stay and boost the economic stimulation in the region.”
