Council recently completed two capital projects in the Gemfields. Both Rubyvale and Sapphire Hall facilities had improvement works to the walkways to make them safer and more accessible to all patrons.
‘Community halls are important places for people to gather,’ said Mayor Kerry Hayes.
‘They are used nearly every day by people of all ages and abilities so it’s critical to ensure they are maintained.’
From bingo and trivia nights to art clubs and business meetings, the Sapphire and Rubyvale halls are spaces that allow for entertainment, collaboration, information sharing and more.
At Sapphire Hall, the all-abilities ramp was extended for safer and compliant access to amenities. New concrete pathways joined the accesses.
In Rubyvale, the concrete pathway in front of the hall was replaced and additional pathways were added to the side entrance. Balustrading and handrails were also installed on the steps.
