Feedback closes at midnight on Sunday 19 March 2023, with residents able to share their thoughts via an online survey on the Shaping Greater Shepp website. Council will also have stalls set up during Cultural Diversity Week, at the Maude Street precinct on Saturday 11 March from 12pm to 2pm, and at Converge on the Goulburn on Friday 17 March from 6pm to 9pm and Saturday 18 March from 4pm to 7pm, for residents to share their thoughts.

Council has continued to build upon its commitment to multicultural development through the adoption of the 2019-2022 Cultural Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, which aimed to support and promote Greater Shepparton’s multicultural communities.

With the next strategy now due, Council voted to diversify the document into a three year Multicultural Action Plan that is integrated into the broader Council Plan.

Mayor Councillor Shane Sali reminded residents to share their thoughts to help shape the plan and create an even better place for people of all ages and cultures to live, work and play.

“Council pride themselves on having a vibrant and cohesive community that celebrates and incorporates all aspects of cultural diversity,” he said.

“Greater Shepparton is a very diverse multicultural community. It is important that we continue to be a welcoming place for migrants and multiculturalism into the future and provide appropriate services specific to our communities.”
