In the lead up to the campaign period for the upcoming State Election, Council provides the following information on displaying campaign material on public land.
The placement of signs associated with elections causes concern for our Community. Election signs are regulated under the State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008 (Subdivision 13 (Election signs) of Division 2 of Part 2). The code establishes standards relating to the sign’s location, size and display period.
Signs are not permitted to be displayed on Council’s road reserves, either free-standing pole signs or those affixed to trees or street furniture. Signage is also not allowed to be displayed on a trailer parked on a road or road-related areas.
Under the Public Spaces (Unattended Property) Act 2021, Council can remove and take into possession signs displayed in prohibited locations, charge a fee, and issue a penalty notice.

Conveyance of impounded article to pound: At cost plus GST Storage of an impounded article per item: $43.00 plus GST Notice advising the owner of an impounded item: $43.00 plus GSTThe relevant legislation can be accessed via the following sites:
