This weekend will be the final chance for residents to enjoy the Cohuna and Kerang swimming pools before both Gannawarra Shire Council-managed facilities close for the autumn-winter break at 7pm on Sunday.
Both facilities have been popular locations to keep cool during the warmer months, with the season extended by seven days following the receipt of a Kerang Amateur Swimming and Lifesaving Club petition to extend Council’s Swimming Pool season.
“It has been great to see residents and visitors make the most of our outdoor pools this season,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
“This season has been challenging, particularly due to inclement weather, but Council thanks all visitors for making the most of these popular facilities.
“Council also thanks our dedicated staff for their efforts in supporting both pools and keeping visitors safe.”
Council looks forward to welcoming residents and visitors back to the Cohuna and Kerang swimming pools when the new swimming season begins later in the year.
In the meantime, residents wanting to keep active in the water whilst the outdoor pools are closed are encouraged to utilise the Kerang Exercise Pool, located in Patchell Plaza.
