Everyone has a story.  The woman you pass on the street.  The man at the bus-stop.  The barista who makes your coffee.  You, reading this.

Laycock Street Community Theatre presents COASTLIVES in partnership with Bravewords: a live story-telling event where everyday people tell incredible true stories you don't hear every day.  In our first event, a fantastic line-up of local Central Coasties share stories evoked by one word:  Blaze.  Stories of fiery burning passion, trail-blazing, rising from the ashes.  Fire as warmth, fire as a tool, fire as a threat.

Join us for an inspiring, entertaining and heart-felt experience of oral storytelling - celebrating the beauty, connections and history that live inside all of us.

Guest Speakers include:

Adam King - a proud Durag man, sculpture artist and educator, who shares how understanding art can help us understand each other's stories.

Luke Carman - an award-winning author and academic, whose life takes a turn soon after the birth of his son.

Donné Restom - a singer, artist and mother, who explores what it means to find enlightenment.

Olivia Wolfe - a poet and writer, who watched her hometown burn while overseas and struggling with the sweltering of her long-held beliefs.

Tassin Barnard - was a high level finance executive and now a sweeper of kangaroo poo, who shares how her journey, battles and the power of community helped her find her purpose and identity.

Chris Wallace - a heroic retired fire deputy, who has used his retirement to bring people joy and keep saving lives through fire safety education.
