Rockingham community groups, not-for-profits, sporting clubs and any other organisations working with volunteers are encouraged to recognise the outstanding contribution a volunteer has made to their organisation by nominating them for the City’s 2023 Volunteer Recognition Evening.
This year the Volunteer Recognition Evening will be held on Thursday 18 May 2023 at the Gary Holland Community Centre.
The event is held annually during National Volunteer Week and aims to celebrate and recognise the committed volunteers who dedicate their time, effort and passion to the community. There are several categories volunteers can be nominated for including:
Act Belong Commit People Who Make a DifferenceYoung Volunteer of the YearVolunteer of the YearSenior Volunteer of the YearCommunity Volunteer Organisation of the YearCity of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin said volunteers were the heart of the community.
“As identified in the City’s Volunteering Strategy, recognising and valuing volunteers plays an important role in inspiring more people in the community to volunteer,” Mayor Hamblin said.
“The City recognises and appreciates the commitment and hard work that volunteers contribute to making our community stronger.
The Volunteer Recognition Evening offers the City a chance to celebrate their achievements and we encourage community members to put forward as many worthy nominations as possible.Nominations close Monday 10 April 2023.
