Residents in six Gannawarra Shire communities have one week left to complete a survey outlining what improvements they would like to see occur.
Facilitators have spent this month working with residents from the Lakes District, Lalbert, Leitchville, Macorna/Tragowel, Murrabit/Myall/Benjeroop, and Quambatook as part of the Connecting Gannawarra project.
Funded by the Agriculture-Dependent Community Resilience Project, the Connecting Gannawarra project will help guide local community planning outcomes for the coming years.
“It has been great to see residents from our smaller communities embrace the Connecting Gannawarra project so far,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
“Whether it is by completing the Connecting Gannawarra survey or attending one of the many community meetings, drop-in sessions or listening posts held so far, your important feedback will help develop six new community plans, building on work previously undertaken since 2008.
“Developed and owned by the community, these documents capture a community’s voice for what is important to them and strengthen opportunities to obtain funding to make these long-term goals a reality.”
The 14-question Connecting Gannawarra survey is available to complete online at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/ConnectingGannawarra or from the following locations:
